Content Availability
Content availability differs between players due to a variety of factors. According to
Sunblink, all content will be available to all platforms eventually, and time-limited content (such as items and clothing from
Events will always return yearly. Nothing is permanently able to be missed. However, because of differences in the schedules for updates, the launch dates for different platforms, and player start dates, it is normal for people to not have access to all content right away.
Temporary Exclusivity
New updates almost always release first on
Apple Arcade due to how updates are scheduled.
Every 2-4
Apple Arcade updates get bundled into a larger "Content Update" for other platforms. As it is easier to release updates on
Steam (PC) than
Nintendo Switch or
PlayStation,
Steam (PC) sometimes gets the content update a little sooner than the others.
Version Comparison
As of December 17th, 2025:
Apple Arcade is on version 2.11.5.
- Version 2.12 will release 8 weeks after 2.11, on January 7, 2025, due to the holidays.
Steam (PC),
PlayStation, and
Nintendo Switch have Content Update 4 (CU4), which is approximately equivalent to
version 2.11.
Nintendo Switch has also received a patch, 2.11.1.
Downloadable Content
- For the further information, refer to the "Downloadable Content" page.
Downloadable Content (DLC) refers to additional, typically paid, content that people can purchase in addition to the base game.
Due to
Apple Arcade not permitting additional purchases, the
Apple Arcade version of Hello Kitty Island Adventure has no paid DLC. Instead, any DLC expansions (such as the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC) are included in the subscription price of that service.
On all other platforms, content available through DLC expansions can only be obtained by people who own the DLC. For example, if someone has a critter from
Wheatflour Wonderland, they cannot gift it to a player without the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC.
Apple Arcade does not have access to the Deluxe Edition DLC because of the service restrictions and because all content is obtainable through normal play eventually.
City Town
City Town will be released as Downloadable Content for
Steam (PC),
Nintendo Switch, and
PlayStation in Quarter 2 (April-June) 2026.
Events
Events are seasonal happenings that occur throughout the year.
- For more details, refer to the "Events" page.
Events always come with both new and returning content. This content usually includes event clothing and event furniture, but it can also include outfits for characters,
avatar palettes,
crafting plans,
recipes, and
flowers.

Event Furniture
Event furniture usually can be obtained at other times of the year through
Keroppi's
Friendship Bead trades (requires
Multiplayer) and the
Fish Derby.
There are, however, exceptions entirely limited to the event:
50th Anniversary Original furniture: A subset of furniture from Hello Kitty's 50th Anniversary event (now the Interlude of Dreams).
Holiday Bears: Character-themed teddy bears only obtainable during the Give & Gather Celebration.
Other Event Content
Everything else generally requires participating in the event (and, for flowers, having unlocked
Merry Meadow).
Recipes and the crafted food items are usually, but not always, giftable in
Multiplayer, but their event ingredient is not.- Plucked flowers can be gifted in
Multiplayer, but plucked event flowers cannot be turned into seeds and planted.
While most (not all) event clothing can be gifted in
Multiplayer, gifting any clothing requires completing Multiplayer Friendship level 13 with the other person. That requires 12 weeks at the minimum.
- The character-themed
Holiday Sweaters cannot be gifted.
Deluxe Edition DLC
Important Note
This DLC is not available for
Apple Arcade because the platform does not allow games to offer additional purchases.
The Deluxe Edition DLC's Deluxe Event Bundle contains all event content excluding
flowers for all events between 2023's Launch Celebration and 2024's Jam Jamboree.
This means that it does not have content for events beyond that (such as content introduced in 2024's Spooky Celebration and beyond).
- Event Music Discs are not included as those were introduced later.
- The
Autumn Mermaid Tiara,
Autumn Mermaid Armor, and
Autumn Mermaid Tail from 2023's Fall Fashion Frenzy are not included due to conflicts with an early-game quest. - Some
Crafting Plans for clothes are also excluded because they were added later.
The Deluxe Event Bundle is therefore very useful for players who are trying to get certain visitors more quickly than otherwise, but it does not complete any event collection.
Birthday Celebrations
Like
Events, birthdays repeat yearly. Birthday Quests are not repeatable, but the birthday celebration always returns, sometimes with new content.
The most recent addition was Decorating Kits, which are used to cook Birthday Cakes. Birthday Cakes and their
recipes can be gifting in
Multiplayer, but the Decorating Kits cannot, as they act more like a special event ingredient/currency.
Birthday celebrations commonly last 1 week and start 2 days before the
Friend's actual birthday. There are some exceptions to this.

Visitors and Visitor Content
Some
Visitors travel only during certain seasons or on a strict schedule.
- Refer to "Island Visitors: Visitor Schedules" for details on schedules.
Other visitors may require furniture or clothing from specific
Events. (If a character specifically requires clothing, clothing crafted from
flowers (like
Flower Crowns) will not count.) Also, because some visitors require other visitors, quests, and/or high friendship levels with characters, it can take significant amounts of times to have some visitors visit the island.
Currently, the most time-locked visitors are
Retsuko's friends and
Cinnamoroll's friends, though other characters do have visitors locked to specific seasons (such as
Kuromi's friend
Baku only coming during the
Fall).
Cafe Cinnamon and Cinnamoroll Furniture
The Cafe Cinnamon visitors are particularly known for the length of time it takes for everyone to become island residents, as almost all of them travel on a rotating schedule and many are locked behind others' quests.
Mocha,
Chiffon,
Cappuccino, and
Espresso travel in a four-week rotation.
Azuki requires finding all
Yummy Furniture
Crafting Plans and crafting them (with some foods requiring high-level friendships to upgrade cooking stations).
Coco and
Nuts switch traveling every other season and require the previous 5 to unlock.
Poron travels biweekly and requires the previous 7 visitors, plus clothing from several events (about a year of normal play).
Corune travels every 4th week and requires
Poron.
Milk is often the very last visitor that players unlock, as he requires all the previous visitors to unlock.
Moreover, there are clothing and furniture pieces locked behind the Cafe Cinnamon visitors.
For clothing:
- The first 7 visitors are required to unlock the
Ribbon Bow
Instructions.
Corune is the only source of
Horns and is also required to unlock the
Unicorn Horn
Instructions.
The Cinnamoroll furniture set is rewarded by specific visitor quests. On platforms with the Deluxe Edition, the Deluxe Event Bundle lets players unlock all of these within about 6-8 months. Without the bundle, it takes longer or requires leveling a Multiplayer Friendship with another player to receive event clothing from them, as
Poron requires clothing from multiple events.
However, once the furniture is unlocked by someone through a quest, it can be unlocked by other players through
Multiplayer gifts/trades.
Information within this section is different for
PlayStation players.
Note: For
PlayStation, these are the expected unlock dates for Cinnamoroll furniture and other items unlocked by Cafe Cinnamon visitors based on an August 5, 2025, start date with the digital launch of the game.

Multiplayer
There is some exclusive content that does require participating in
Multiplayer. More could be added in the future.
Currently, multiplayer-exclusive content includes:
- 10 group emotes (only usable with friends at or above specific Multiplayer Friendship levels).
- Powers/abilities when a pair of players has a high enough Multiplayer Friendship level.
- A quest series that unlocks a basement with 4 puzzles underneath the
Haunted Mansion ("Spooky Secrets").
- The basement contains 4 undyeable color variations of the
Witch Outfit (hat and dress) in its different rooms.
- The basement contains 4 undyeable color variations of the
Friendship Beads and related content (trades for past event furniture).- The
"Hide and Seek" mini game (
only).
- The mini game rewards undyeable
Wheatflour color variations of 19 clothing items.
