Hugs & Hearts Event

The Hugs & Hearts Festival is an Event in Hello Kitty Island Adventure and the tenth event to occur in-game. It was preceded by and runs concurrently with the Luck & Lanterns Celebration event. The Celebration Stand and collectible event currency are located in Seaside Resort. The event does require having a Net, which requires having done the "Open the Nature Preserve" quest. The event originally ran from February 8, 2024, until the end of February 20, 2024.

The Hugs & Hearts event will be available annually in mid-February.

Overview

The main purpose of this event is to catch Lovebugs. A mysterious new critter — the Lovebug — has arrived! Catch this charming creature that only hatches at this time of the year. Place lovebugs in the Hugs & Hearts Habitat event stand to obtain heartfelt rewards throughout the festival. As seen in the Collection Goals for the event, there are 30 different items you can collect for this event.

Lovebugs

The player can catch a Lovebug around the Seaside Resort with a Net. The Lovebug can then be placed in the Hugs & Hearts Habitat (Event Stand), where it will turn into a chrysalis.

A few days before the end of the event, the chrysalis hatch into Heartwings, which float around the island.

At the end of the event, Keroppi informs the player that one of the Heartwings loved the island so much that they would like to stay, and he gives the player a Heartwing.

Hugs & Heart Habitat (Event Stand)

The outdoors Hugs & Hearts Habitat (Event Stand) is the event stand for the Hugs & Hearts Festival. When a Lovebug is placed in it, the player receives their choice of event furniture. (Because it behaves like an event stand, Tuxedosam's Negotiator ability to possibly double a purchase does apply.)

The Hugs & Hearts Habitat (Event Stand) protects the Lovebug chrysalises for the duration of the festival. When the festival ends, it is time for the Lovebugs to hatch from their chrysalises.

Rose

Roses are flowers that grow in the wild during the Hugs & Hearts Festival. During the event, █ white, █ pink, █ yellow and █ red roses can randomly appear in any empty flower plot in Merry Meadow and Seaside Resort. The first flower plots are only available with access to Merry Meadow after the "Curious Caverns" quest.

Roses cannot be turned into seed packets by digging them up or by using the Seed Dispenser. However, they can be bred and can be moved around using the Trowel once they are grown. After the event ends, they can no longer be bred, but they will still be able to develop the ring pattern if fertilized. Their plucked flowers are giftable.

Event Quest

The event begins with the "Curious Critter" quest. Chococat, My Melody, and Badtz-maru participate in the quest.

At the Hugs & Hearts Habitat event stand, Chococat asks the player to investigate the presence of a new critter in Seaside Resort by catching one. Once the player shows a Lovebug to Chococat, he, My Melody, and Badtz-maru discuss his find and say that it is time for the Hugs & Hearts Festival. Then, Chococat asks the player to place any Lovebugs they find into the habitat.
