Mermaidifier

The 
Mermaidifier is an structure located on the east beach of 
Rainbow Reef. The player will unlock the Mermaidifier while completing the "Comic Relief" quest.
Mermaidifier Upgrade
During the "Mermaidified Fashion" quests, 
Tuxedosam and 
Chococat will assist the player in upgrading their Mermaidifier! The player can insert their Mermaid Outfit into the 
Mermaidifier, which will then automatically equip the clothing items to the player whenever they are in the water.
Effects on Residents
Upon restoring the Mermaidifier, certain characters become merspecies whenever they enter water deeper than knee-deep, including 
Hello Kitty, 
My Melody, 
Keroppi, 
Badtz-maru, and 
Kuromi. They will return to regular species as soon as they exit water again.
After the "Mermaidified Fashion" questline, the player can optionally choose to become merspecies by water contact alone too, without any need to don the Mermaid Outfit sets while in regular form.
Other characters that are not listed above can however not become merspecies.
The prospective island visitor 
Pam is eager to see the player character become "half fish" as part of his second visitor quest, as he is very eager about sealife in general as well.
