Nuls are the green, blob-like inhabitants of Big Adventures Park. They are silent creatures that are often helpful to the residents of the park. Nuls are classified as special characters.

Certain Nuls will help run shops while Island Residents are occupied with other activities. The "Meet the Island Beings" quest, which introduces the Nuls, is also required for Events to occur.

Most Nuls can be interacted with to put hats on them using the "Give Hat" interaction button. Some hats, such as the Sprinkler Hat, provide special capabilities when worn by a Nul, and they are the only characters that can wear the Nul Ghost Costume.

Purple Nuls reside in City Town. ⁽⁾ There is no difference between them and green Nuls aside from color.

Special Nuls

These Nuls have special functions compared to regular Nuls found across the island.

Game Nuls		These Nuls help run the mini-games found in Spooky Swamp, Rainbow Reef, Gemstone Mountain, Mount Hothead, and Merry Meadow. They wear a red visor and are always stationed at their respective mini-game locations. Sparkles can be traded in with Pochacco or the mini-game Nuls for Game Tickets. When speaking with a Nul, by selecting the "Get Game Tickets." dialogue option, the player can trade 25x Sparkles for 1x Game Ticket.
Curator Nuls		These Nuls run the Nature Preserve and the Critter Corrals. "Curator" runs the Nature Preserve, "Curator Jr." runs the Cloud Island Critter Corral, and "Curator Sr." runs the Merry Meadows Critter Corral. They wear various colors of Critter Catcher Hats. ^[1] Interacting with the Curators allows critters to be deposited into the preserve system, which automatically places the critters into the biome that matches their biome of origin.
Witch Nul		This Nul shows up before and during the "Re-Haunt the Spooky Swamp" quest. It wears a Witch Hat and prevents the player from entering the area unless they are wearing a Witch Outfit. Once the player enters wearing a Witch Outfit, it leaves and is not seen again.
Propeller Hat Nul		This Nul appears during the "Cinnamoroll is Missing" quest. After being asked by Cinnamoroll to find the Mailbox Key on the Airplane, the player is given a Propeller Hat to put on the Nul near the Resort Plaza fast-travel point. Once done, they can take the player up to the Airplane whenever requested. It is currently the only way to return to the Airplane.
Boat Nuls		These Nuls come in pairs and ride around on boats. The Rainbow Reef boat travels around the interior coastline of Friendship Island, passing by all of the inward-facing piers. ^[2] The Spooky Swamp boat travels around the murky waters of the area. ^[3] They cannot be interacted with in any way.
Ghost Tour Guides		The Ghost Tour Guides are the Nuls surrounding the Ghost Tour Ride that wear the Nul Ghost Costume by default. ^[4]
Collector Hat Nul		For more information, see Collection Box. This Nul appears during the "Terra Nul" quest series. Once the Collector Hat is received from Pochacco, the player must then place it on the Nul standing outside of Small Gift Big Smile. The Nul can then be asked once per day to gather any kind of material, which will show up in the Collection Box the following day.
Sprinkler Hat Nul		The Sprinkler Hat crafting plans are obtained during the "Friends of the Flowers" quest. Once put on a Nul, the Nul can then be asked to water all of the flowers in the region.
Photo Op Nuls		These Nuls, who wear the Photo Op Hat, appear during the "Picture Day" quest. They appear at all Photo Op locations on Friendship Island. When interacted with, the player can choose Island Residents and Visitors to take photos with!
Icy Peak Shriek Nul		After the "This Tall to Ride" quest, a Nul wearing a Big Challenges Collectors Hat appears on Icy Peak, who allows the player to ride the Icy Peak Shriek and land on The Moon at any time.
Ship's Nul		For more information, see Treasure Hunt. During the "Chasing the Horizon" quest, the player will unlock the Ship's Nul, who is dressed in a Classic Pirate Hat. Located along the Spooky Swamp coast, this Nul can provide a map to the location of that day's Treasure Hunt item, for a price.
Fish Derby Nul		For more information, see Fish Derby. During the "Fish Derby Fun" quest, the player will unlock the Fish Derby Nul, who is dressed in an Ocean Pirate Hat. Located on the Resort Docks near the billboard, the Fish Derby Nul will trade that week's Fish Derby item for the required fish.
Master of Festivities Nul		During the "Announcing Announcements" quest, My Melody will recruit the Master of Festivities Nul, who is knowledgable about Events and other activities around the island.
City Town Nuls ⁽⁾		These Nuls populate the City Town region. They differ from their Friendship Island counterparts only in color — they are purple instead of green!
Theater Nul ⁽⁾		During the Theater quest series, a black, glitchy Nul will appear. During the "Talent Time" quest, a Dream Entity will appear and transform the shadow back into a regular Nul. Hangyodon will then ask if the Nul would like to continue working in the Theater, which will please the Nul. When interacted with after the quest, its hat can be changed.
Figment Nul ⁽⁾		During the "Streetwise Search" quest, a Nul will be recruited as the "Figment Nul", who will keep track of all the Figments the player has collected: Treasure Hunt Figments, Hungry Figments, Hidden Figments, and Platform Figments. Once the player has completed collecting all of a Figment type, they can speak to the Nul to obtain a reward. At any time, the Nul can also tell the player how many of each Figment variation they've found and how many they are currently missing.
