Hello Kitty Island Adventure was released on January 30, 2025 on 
Steam (PC).
Most updates come out on 
Apple Arcade first, but all content will come to all platforms eventually. Outside of the differences in update speeds and current content availability, 
Sunblink is "contractually required to keep the experience the same across platforms," according to a statement from the dev team.

Hello everyone. An in-progress build was accidentally uploaded to Steam. Please do not update. If you have already updated, please stay tuned for an announcement as we investigate the solution.

Update on CU4 Release Issue (November 19, 2025)
Hello Steam folks! If you updated to the in-progress build, you'll currently find yourself locked out of the game. Our eng team is actively coding a fix. We're hoping to release CU4 along with this fix later today. When this is released, your game should naturally work again! We'll make an additional announcement as soon as that is live. We're working as fast as we can to get this sorted, and thank you so much for your patience and support.

Content Update 4 is Ready for Steam Players and PS5 Players!
Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and support while we worked to resolve the Steam update issue. The update is now ready to play on both Steam and PS5, and you can jump back in! We truly appreciate how understanding you all have been!
For the players who were unable to load into the game after the accidental update, the new build will restore your prior save file from before the update. Due to how backups work, this may result in some loss of progress that could vary between players. We know this is frustrating and we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Our team will continue to monitor reports. Anyone still unable to play after the fix can reach out to [email protected]
Edit: At this time, if you play on multiple devices, we highly advise you to log in and update to the latest versioning with the same device you played last.

2.9.1 Hotfix - (September 29, 2025)
Build Number: 20178543The CU 3.1 patch is now live on Steam. Here are some things are fixed and addressed in this update:
Quests
- Cogimyun's conch should no longer be in the world if a player has not purchased the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC. This conch can now be found in Wheatflour Wonderland. If you picked it up after purchasing and do not see it in your inventory, you can find it in Wheatflour Wonderland.
- Fixed an error in "Montage Magic" where a string of dialogue may appear in a language different from the one you are currently playing.
- The "Heart of Grain" quest now requires Wish me mell to be at level 16 (which unlocks the Flower Crown recipe). If you are stuck on this quest and do not have her at level 16, the step to create the Wheatflower Crown is automatically skipped.
- Players now are required to complete "Dessert-ed Boat" before starting the "Rescue! Friendship Island Awaits" quest.
Misc
- The Hello Kitty Flooring should appear normal now; it should no longer blink or "glitch" when in use.
- Flashing lights should no longer appear when players are exploring the Kelp Maze on medium quality graphics.
- Starfall and Paper Parade glasses now have their original frames.
- The textures on Jam Jamboree's Blueberry and Raspberry hats are restored to their original colors.
- Fixed an error where icons would not appear on top of crystals in Gem Match.
- The Furniture Customizer screen should no longer appear whited out during use.

Besties, Assemble! The gracious Island Spirit noticed how hard you and your friends work to collect items around the island. She wants to help, too! Find her in the Heart of the Island to organize your besties all at once. Collection has never been easier!
Item Overflow
Didn't make it to Friendship Island today? No worries! Items and pick ups now accumulate over three days to give you more to work with.
New Visitors and Quests
Retsuko’s free-spirited friend Puko is stopping by Friendship Island and ready to relax… but can Retsuko unwind, especially with her mom around? Meanwhile, track down some mysterious (and mischievous) missing deliveries, try to find a mysterious giant new critter in Gemstone Mountain, and hang out with Pekkle and Carl as they engage in some ‘friendly’ competition. Also, it seems like Gori and Washimi are… up to something…

Our first major Content Update is here! Friends, Furniture, and Frozen Peaks brings frosty flair, flowery fun, and fantastic friendship improvements to the Island.
Players can explore expansions to Icy Peak (Blizzard Peak and Snow Village), discover new weather and flowers, and enjoy tons of story and cosmetics– from bestie quests to character furniture sets. This free update also includes fan-requested features like Furniture Stacking (placing multiple items on tables, mannequins, and even on top of other furniture, as well as rugs on floors, and more) and Call Friend (so you can companion with your Sanrio friends from anywhere).
This update is included in everyone’s game, so don’t hesitate to jump in and explore!

Here are some tips to get you started:
- Collect materials around the island. Sticks, rubber, and sand dollars are helpful as you navigate your first few days on the island!
- Low on stamina? Complete quests and explore to find Stamina Apple Slices, then craft them into a Stamina Apple for a permanent boost!
- Gift your friends presents with tags they like! This levels up their friendships faster, which can unlock new quests, items, and abilities!
- Complete daily quests. These missions will increase friendship with Hello Kitty and Friends, and they may even give you some sweet rewards.

The Dye Station is no longer usable by multiplayer guests in order to situations where quests can break. Sorry for the inconvenience!
- Infinite scroll should no longer occur on menu screens.
- The one-day wait between the Make Yourself at Home and Friends & Family quests has been removed.
- Critter Lists no longer require tools in order to find them [note 1]
- Pressing cancel when discussing Friendship Beads with Keroppi will cancel your purchase

- Cancel button in dialogue works more consistently
- UI in windowed mode is now more easily resizable
- Missing items from the Deluxe Event Bundle are being granted to players! If you have already unlocked this bundle, you will receive these items upon starting a session. If you have not unlocked the Deluxe Event Bundle, you will get all items at the same time once the quest requirements are reached.

Content Update 4 Details (November 12, 2025)
CU4 is targeted to come late November / early December! 🥳
Here are the issues that you can expect to be fixed:
Quests
- Some players were unable to interact with the cave in "Lloromannic Lair". This should no longer be the case.
- "Favorite Flora" now requires Wish me mell at level 16 (to obtain Flower Crown recipe) and "A Place To Art" (to unlock Creation Station) completed.
- Fixed a potential softlock with Keroppi if the player has "Absence Makes the Heart" and "Critter Queen" active at the same time.
- Badtz-maru is now a required character for "Magma Master". This is meant to fix when players may have had "Magma Master" and "Hide and Seek" open at the same time and could not find Badtz-maru in the Spooky Swamp (he would be on the shores of Mount Hothead for "Magma Master" instead).
Items and Crafting
- The Mini Furniture Customizer will now show proper colors on the lefthand side of the screen when attempting to customize it.
- The Bell Garden has been changed so if the guest completes the last sequence, the rewards (Bell Arch Instructions & 1x Opal) are given to both that guest and the host. The host will not celebrate the rewards but should see the notifications. For players that already lost the plans to a guest, a these plans should be received upon startup.
- Monster Beanie and Scholastic Berets should no longer have clipping issues on Chonky avatars.
- My Melody Pirate Hat no longer has clipping issues on some avatars.
- Fashion Frenzy tag has been added to some Fashion Frenzy items that previously did not have them.
- My Sweet Piano's 50th Anniversary outfit no longer has clipping issues.
- Scholastic Brick Half Wall now has correct tags.
- The Spooky Celebration Double Bed now uses the correct icon.
Wheatflour Wonderland
- The Bell Garden has been changed so if the guest completes the last sequence, the rewards (Bell Arch Instructions & 1x Opal) are given to both that guest and the host. The host will not celebrate the rewards but should see the notifications. For players that already lost the plans to a guest, these plans should be received upon startup.
- Wheatflour Wonderland trophy plans are now within the Wheatflour Wonderland collection.
- Cream Glitter Wheatflowers that were obtained from the "A Heart of Grain quest" are no longer counted as separate from Cream Glitter Wheatflowers that are obtained by other methods (growing, trade, etc).
- Players can now make Wheatflour Wonderland potions within cabin cauldrons.
- Magic Master achievement under the Wheatflour Wonderland category is now rewarded as intended ("Create a wand of every gemstone type").
- Players can now craft wands using the Witch's Jars.
- Fixed a line in "Wanderful" that was misattributed to Cogimyun.
- The Guardians of the Grain Complete set no longer appears in the Revolutionary Fairy collection.
- The Unicorn Horn has been removed from the Wheatflour Wonderland collections.
- Cogimyun Lamp no longer has Lighttime Jubilee tag.
Misc
- The camera should no longer pan away from stage during the Saturday Comedy Club shows.
- Players will receive the "Open House" achievement if they have completed either Making Yourself at Home or Home Sweet Home PT2.
- While using "Skip station animation" option, any flower filters will persist while the player is using the Composter. It will not reset after every compost attempt.
- City Town lures have been removed from platforms that do not have City Town.
- Tongues on dog avatars should stay the same color despite avatar color palette.
- Various translation issues have been fixed.

How Updates Work (May 1, 2025)

There are many contractual factors at play here, and we appreciate folks' understanding.
- Standard Content Cadence
Our standard content cadence is to release new features and content ~every 6 weeks on Apple Arcade. These are things like "2.4" "2.5" etc. Due to factors like QA timelines, platform approval processes, and audience quality expectations, the updates take longer to get to Switch and PC and are therefore bundled together ("CU1" "CU2" etc).
Our intent is to have Switch/PC follow Arcade by 1-3 updates (or ~ 6-18 weeks) for our standard content cadence. Switch and PC will likely be offset by ~2 weeks, though promotional opportunities may affect that target. As a small business, it's critical that we have the flexibility to respond to marketing opportunities.
- Expansions
For large expansions to the game -- for example, City Town -- it is much more important that we hit a high quality bar and feeling of completeness. When we released the game originally on Switch and Steam, the core game experience was considered complete --- you essentially reach the 'credits' moment when you release the Island Spirit and get the Friendship Montage video. We want all of our major expansions to have a similar feeling of completeness before we release them on Switch and PC. Therefore, timelines may be drastically different between platforms. These will be their own releases, separate from the standard content updates, and we will try our best to release Switch and PC as close together as possible, if not simultaneously.
Our intent is still to have all content be available on all platforms eventually.
