This is not truly a bug, but, currently, patterns from patterned flowers do NOT appear on the bow. For example, a green & white speckled bow will look like a green bow, even though its inventory icon will show the speckled pattern. The ability for this style of bow to show patterns is likely to be added at some point in the future, after which all bows previously made with patterned flowers will show their pattern.

The Hello Kitty Style Bow is a clothing item that can be created using the Creation Station Icon.png Creation Station. The Hello Kitty Style Bow Instructions for the Creation Station Icon.png Creation Station are automatically given to the player after they've completed the "Fashionuls" quest.
