Fish can be caught from the waters all around  Friendship Island using the  Fishing Rod, which is unlocked during the "Keep It Reel" quest. Different fish can be caught in each region, depending on specific location and time in the Day Cycle.

Each fish species has a particular rarity: Common, Uncommon, or Rare (currently, there are no Legendary fish). In addition, there are three sizes of each fish: tiny, regular, and huge. For the  Fishing Goals  Achievement, all three sizes of each fish species must be caught. The size of the fish often varies based on specific location.

 Bait and  Fishing Lures can be used to attract fish.  Fishing Lures are unlocked during the "Lure Lore" quest.

Usage

Each day, the player can trade in a total of 10 fish to  Badtz-maru's  Comic and Bait Shop for regional  currency.

• Which currency is received is based on the fish's tags.
• The amount of currency received depends on the fish's rarity.

The player can trade in fish at the  Fwishing Well and will be rewarded  Fwish Furniture.

• Rewards are not influenced by fish species or size. However, the higher the rarity, the more likely a fish is to earn a reward. See Fwishing Well for more information.

Fish can be placed into Aquariums in  Visitor Cabins for display.

• Unlike land and flying critters, fish need to live in an aquarium. There is a limit of one fish or critter per aquarium.
