Fish can be caught from the waters all around Friendship Island using the Fishing Rod. Different fish can be caught in each region depending on the time in the Day Cycle. Some Fish can only be caught in specific locations of the region.

There are three different rarities of fish: Common, Uncommon, and Rare. (Currently, no Legendary fish exist.) In addition, there are three sizes of fish: tiny, regular, and huge. For the "Fishing Goals" collection all three sizes of fish must be caught for each type. Location can vary based on the size of the fish.

Most Uncommon and Rare fish have the rare tag.

Uses

Each day, the player can trade in a total of 10 fish to Badtz-maru's Comic and Bait shop for Regional Currency.

The currency is based on the Fish's Tags.

The player can trade in fish at the Fwishing Well and will be rewarded Fwish furniture.

The likelihood of obtaining an item increases depending on a variety of factors. Rewards are not influenced by fish species or size. However, Rare or Uncommon Fish have an increased chance of getting a reward! See Fwishing Well for more information.

Fish can be placed into Aquariums in Visitor Cabins for display. Unlike Critters, Fish can't be placed without being put into an Aquarium.
