Puzzles
Puzzles are mysterious rooms scattered around the island. They always contain at least one 
Treasure Chest and sometimes contain other important items, such as Power Crystals.
About
Puzzles are generally optional. A few do need to be completed to progress through quests, and others are the only source on the player's island for certain items.
Most puzzles can be accessed simply by interacting with the door, if the room has one, and then walking through the doorway. Some require special items to unlock, and a few are unlocked with the help of a companion.
Completed puzzles are usually indicated by the border of their door lighting up. On 
Cloud Island, the arches of completed puzzles have a star at the top.
Locked Puzzles
Some rooms require the player to possess a specific star fragment from 
Kiki and 
Lala in order to open the room. The star fragments are acquired by completing various quests from "The Island Mystery". The possible star fragments are as follows:
Bog Star Fragment (Quest: Open the Nature Preserve)
Rainbow Reef Star Fragment (Quest: Reef Revival)
Gemstone Mountain Star Fragment (Quest: Revive the Oasis)
Mount Hothead Star Fragment (Quest: Fire Up the Volcano)
In 
City Town, the puzzles in the 
Sewers each require a 
City Key to unlock the room. ( City Town is currently only on 
Apple Arcade.)
Solving Puzzles
Puzzle rooms usually require reaching the treasure or goal by pressing buttons and the use of blocks. Buttons are often in the form of button tiles that activate when stood upon or when they have a block placed upon them.
There are currently the following types of puzzle blocks:
Lift blocks are used for floor button activation. (Other blocks can also activate floor buttons.)
Thermal blocks create an upward draft when activated. With 
Balloons, they are used to float to higher locations.
Lilypad blocks create a platform at least one level above them. The platforms can be walked across and used to place other blocks.
Cloud blocks create platforms a set distance in front of them. The platforms work the same as the lilypad platforms.- Electric blocks can carry a current radiating from other activated electric blocks, allowing the current to reach even further. Currents can be carried slightly above or below the visible current radius.
- Ice blocks can be slid across icy floors to create pathways or platforms in order to navigate a puzzle.
Some puzzle rooms also require some elements of platform gaming, such as jumping from one platform to another, climbing, or moving quickly across floor blocks that disappear soon after being touched.

Wheatflour Wonderland
This content requires Wheatflour Wonderland.
It is available with the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC or as part of Apple Arcade.
There are many environmental puzzles all around Wheatflour Wonderland. There are a variety of puzzles, which include 
Forcefields, 
Lampposts, 
Puzzle Arches, and Critter Statues.

Notes
- Apple Arcade version 2.5 and Content Update 1 for
Steam (PC) and 
Nintendo Switch changed the rewards of the following puzzles: Platform Passoff, Hidden Hearts, Crumble Rumble, Tricky Triangulation, Lilypad Lockup, Stratus Shuffle, Lilypad Pathing, Lightning Lockout, and Zealous Zap-up. If the reward was reset, the puzzle will show as incomplete until completed again.
