City Town is a new region on an entirely new island! It is coming with the 2.0 update on September 18, 2024.

How to Access
The minimum requirements to access City Town are confirmed to be the following. The player must have:
- Crafted the
Snorkel and 
Fishing Rod. - Have the following characters at friendship level 7 or above:
How exactly City Town is reached is not yet known, but it likely involves a quest and the mysterious boat.
Other Information
As 2.0 approaches, the developers are releasing (sometimes obscure) hints and more information on the official Discord.
There may have been hints at something involving pigeons.

Some game mechanics may change for City Town's island.

There will be at least one new food option.

The unconfirmed guesses that people have made have included new places to get food, such as food trucks and food stalls, and the following food options: boba, mochi, burgers, hotdogs, ramen, sherbet/sorbet, tacos, paninis, grilled cheese sandwiches, macaroni and cheese (or pasta more generally), and donuts.
There is also a new (mystery) ingredient.
