Chococat is often seen by his tent in 
Seaside Resort near the Resort Gate, where the player character can craft items at his crafting table.

"Chococat tends to be a little scatterbrained at times, but he has a curious mind and is always up on the latest news. He is a DIY genius and can help you craft tools and all sorts of trinkets. With you and Chococat on the case, there’s nothing you can’t solve together!"

Chococat loves to investigate all of the mysterious architecture and strange technology scattered across the island. He is the most reliable at figuring out how different things function, and he is an amazingly efficient crafter as well. Whenever something new that requires more study appears, Chococat is sure to be there and put his scientific skills to the test.
Chococat's Birthday Celebration occurs annually in mid-May.
Gifts
The player can give Chococat up to three gifts per day. 
Gifting gives Friendship XP (experience points), and enough Friendship XP will increase Chococat's Friendship Level with the player. Gift limits can be reset by gifting a 
Friendship Blossom or using a 
Friendship Bouquet. Certain quests, such as any Daily Quests from Chococat, may also reward Friendship XP.
While raising Friendship XP, players will receive 
Gizmo as a reward for each gift given to Chococat. The amount received depends on the value of the gift and increases by 1 at Good Friend and by 1 again at Close Friend.
If the player has reached maximum friendship level (
Best Friend status) with Chococat, they will instead receive 1x 
Chococat Box for each gift given or Daily Quest completed. It will still contain Gizmo when opened.

Friendship Status
The player will reach Best Friend status with Chococat at friendship level 15. After reaching Best Friend status with Chococat, the player can obtain 
Spirit Heart status by bringing him as a companion to meet the 
Island Spirit.
