Badtz-maru is the trickster of the group and is quick with a practical joke. When not playing video games, he likes to relax on the beach and go fishing.
Badtz-maru runs the Comic and Bait Shop on the pier of 
Seaside Resort. He will help you learn to make both the 
Fishing Rod and the 
Net. He'll also reward you with materials if you release fish with him.
Personality
"Badtz-maru is one mischievous penguin. He’s excited to soak up some rays, surf some waves and catch some giant fish while on vacation! But something weird is happening on this island, and even though he’s easy-going, he’s determined to uncover the mystery."

Badtz-maru's biggest hobbies are pranks, comic books, and fishing. As for the fish themselves, he might enjoy releasing them just as much as catching them! He ends up running a 
Comic and Bait Shop on the docks. If there is a mystery afoot, however, the Fancy Pants Detective Agency is sure to be on the case.
In several of 
Kuromi's possible daily strike-up dialogs she discusses Badtz-maru. She refers to him by his full name Bad Badtz-maru, which she claims "explains everything". She also claims he considered himself a movie expert after watching one silent movie, and that she is defending herself from accusations by him that her middle name is "Mischief".
Badtz-maru's Birthday Celebration occurs annually in early April.
Gifts
The player can give Badtz-maru up to three gifts per day, which will raise his friendship with the player. Players will receive 
Paper as an reward for each gift given to Badtz-maru. The amount received depends on the value of the gift and the closeness of the friendship.
If the player has reached maximum friendship level with Badtz-maru, they will receive his 
Character Gift Boxfor each gift given or quest completed.
