Keroppi helps you learn how to catch creatures and restore the Nature Preserve: a place to rescue critters from all across the island. He also helps in many ways to return the island to its former glory. When speaking to Keroppi, the player can trade-in 
Friendship Beads to obtain special furniture.
When he is not involved in quests, he divides his time between walking around in the sourthern parts of 
Spooky Swamp and hanging out by 
Badtz-maru's Comic and Bait Shop
Personality
"Keroppi has a caring heart and loves the island! He takes it upon himself to restore the land's natural beauty and gets all his friends to help. From restoring an old Nature Preserve, to caring for critters, to cleaning up litter in the reef, Keroppi travels the island leaving everything better than he found it."

Characteristics
Keroppi's Birthday Celebration occurs annually in mid-July.
Keroppi is an extremely empathetic person. He can sense when something is troubling someone and is always ready to help, but he also knows how to wait until they want his help. He is so good at understanding others that he can even understand the fish and critters if he tries. He likes to help the player form deeper friendships with others.
According to one of 
Pochacco's possible daily strike-up dialogs, Keroppi puts his heart into basketball when playing it.
Gifts
The player can give Keroppi up to three gifts per day. 
Gifting gives Friendship XP (experience points), and enough Friendship XP will increase Keroppi's Friendship Level with the player. Gift limits can be reset by gifting a 
Friendship Blossom or using a 
Friendship Bouquet. Certain quests, such as any Daily Quests from Keroppi, may also reward Friendship XP.
While raising Friendship XP, players will receive 
Sugarkelp as a reward for each gift given to Keroppi. The amount received depends on the value of the gift and increases by 1 at Good Friend and by 1 again at Close Friend.
If the player has reached maximum friendship level (
Best Friend status) with Keroppi, they will instead receive 1x 
Keroppi Box for each gift given or Daily Quest completed. It will still contain Sugarkelp when opened.

Friendship Status
The player will reach Best Friend status with Keroppi at friendship level 15. After reaching Best Friend status with Keroppi, the player can obtain 
Spirit Heart status by bringing him as a companion to meet the 
Island Spirit.
