Overview
The main purpose of this event is to celebrate the new year. Badtz-maru wants to celebrate the end of the year in a brilliant way—the Lighttime Jubilee—he’s building the biggest light display ever by stringing lights up all over the resort! When they turn it on, it’s gonna look amazing… assuming the player can get it working. Gather up special lights from celebrations past to bring the glow back to the Island, and send off the year with a beautiful blend of friendship and light. There are 35 types of items in this event's
Collection Goals.
Yearly Event Differences
There are some differences in the story, depending on whether this is the first or second year that the player has participated in the "Lighttime Jubilee" quest.
- Year 1:
Badtz-maru and
Chococat have set up light displays across the Resort.
- However, when they go to turn it on, the power overload causes
Light Bulbs to pop out and the displays to break! They ask for the player's help to restore the displays.
- However, when they go to turn it on, the power overload causes
- Year 2:
Badtz-maru and
Chococat have set up light displays across the Resort once again.
Badtz-maru is suspiciously happy about something. When
Chococat turns the displays on, the
Light Bulbs once again go flying! This time,
Badtz-maru did it on purpose because he thought last year was fun. The two ask the player to help once again, and
Chococat mentions it might make a good tradition.
There are no differences in item availability between years.
Light Bulbs
Light Bulbs are the main form of currency for the Lighttime Jubilee event and can be found around
Seaside Resort and earned by completing Daily Quests.
A total of 5x Light Bulbs can be found around the
Seaside Resort. An additional
Light Bulb can be earned per daily quest completed. The player can earn 9x
Light Bulbs per day. If the player misses up to 2 days previous, an additional 5x
Light Bulbs will spawn for every missed day.
Light Bulbs spent to purchase limited-time furniture from
Super Light Display (Event Stand) are counted and used to activate
Light Displays around
Seaside Resort. Each
Light Display costs 10x
Light Bulbs to activate and there are 7x total
Light Displays.
Super Light Display
The Super Light Display (Event Stand) acts as a shop for Lighttime Jubilee's limited-time items.
Light Bulbs can be traded for the 12 pieces of event furniture.
Light Bulbs must be traded in at the event stand to power the other light displays.

Glowbal
Glowbals are flowers that grow in the wild during the Lighttime Jubilee. During the event, █ yellow, █ sky, or █ hot pink Glowbals can randomly appear at reset in any empty flower plot in the
Merry Meadow, which is first available after the "Curious Caverns" quest. They can also appear in empty flower plots in
Seaside Resort and
Spooky Swamp. They are the only flower with the
glow pattern.
Glowbals cannot be turned into seed packets by digging them up or by using the
Seed Dispenser. However, they can be bred and can be moved around using the
Trowel once they are grown. After the event ends, they can only be bred inside the
Greenhouse, but they will still be able to develop their default
glow pattern anywhere if fertilized. Their plucked flowers are giftable.

Lighttime Jubilee Items (2023)
Legendary, undyeable clothing can only be purchased once per save file and only if the player has never owned the item. Even with these limitations, Tuxedosam's Negotiator ability does give the player a chance of receiving an extra item if they make a purchase.
