Aquafall Machine

The 
Aquafall Machine, also called the Aquafaller, is a structure located to the right of the Kelp Maze 
fast-travel point, in the northeast side of 
Rainbow Reef, next to the Dune Lagoon.
How to Unlock
Repairing the Machine
The player will unlock the Aquafall Machine while completing the "Rain or Shine" quest. After completing the quest, the player will unlock weather on the island, where it can be either 
raining or 
sunny! The Aquafall Machine will occasionally activate, making bubbles as it causes rain to fall somewhere around Friendship Island. The player does not need to be near the machine for it to activate. The weather forecast in the player’s 
Phone will show when it is an upcoming weather event.
Manual Activation
After completing the "Rainy Day Delight" quest, the player will be able to manually activate the Aquafall Machine once every 7 days by crafting a 
Rain Island Stone and placing it into the Aquafall Machine. Activating a weather machine causes the weather event to happen in a random region. A currently active machine cannot be manually activated until the weather event ends. Manually activating a machine during another weather event will end the other weather event even if they occur in different regions.
Rainfall
Like all weather events, Rainfall lasts 15 minutes. It automatically waters any planted flowers in the region, as long as they are not currently blooming. If they are blooming, they will automatically be watered if plucked during the rain.
What appears during Rainfall depends on where it rains.

Manual Activation
After completing the "Rainy Day Delight" quest, the player will be able to manually activate a Rainfall event once every 7 days by crafting a Rain Island Stone and placing it into the Aquafaller. Activating a weather machine causes the weather event to happen in a random region and can include regions outside of 
Friendship Island. A currently active machine cannot be manually activated until the weather event ends. Manually activating a machine during a different weather event will end the other weather event even if they occur in different regions.
Rain in Friendship Island
How to Unlock
Weather on Friendship Island does not change normally. Rainfall is the first weather that can occur there, and it is only unlocked after repairing the Aquafaller during the "Rain or Shine" quest. After that, the Aquafaller will activate during Rainfall, making bubbles whenever it rains in any region, including regions not part of Friendship Island. The player does not need to be near the machine for it to activate.
Rainfall Flowers
Rainfall Flowers will appear during rain only in 
Seaside Resort, 
Spooky Swamp, or 
Merry Meadow. When watered using the 
Watering Can, they will produce 1x 
Raindrop. 15x flowers spawn per Rainfall. They do not regenerate with the use of 
Island Bouquets. Even if the player was somewhere else during the rainfall event, the Rainfall Flowers will stay spawned until the Raindrop is collected or replaced by another Rainfall event in the same region!
Rainfall Flowers can also contain:
Peculiar Corals (Twilight Mix)
Crafting Plans for 
Fast Flippers (one per save)
Fish Almanac #28 (in the Spooky Swamp only; one per save)
If a find is limited to one per save, it can be found again if the find is collected by a 
Multiplayer visitor instead of by the host.
Turning off flower animations in the "Settings: Gameplay" menu will skip the watering animation for Rainfall Flowers.
Raindrops
Raindrops are a type of currency obtained by watering Rainfall Flowers during or after rain. Each Rainfall Flower contains 1x Raindrop, if it does not give something else instead.
Critter
When Rainfall occurs in 
Gemstone Mountain, the player will be able to catch 
Soaking Sluglers around the region.
Rainfall Flowers will not appear in Gemstone Mountain.
Fish
When Rainfall occurs in 
Mount Hothead, the player will be able to catch 
Shower Springtail, which can be found in the Hot Springs and along the coast.
Rainfall Flowers will not appear in Mount Hothead.
Rain in City Town
This content requires 
City Town.
It is currently available only on 
Apple Arcade.
City Town DLC will be released on other platforms in 2026.
For Rainfall in City Town, the player must complete the "Rainbow or Bust" quest.
This does not require the Aquafaller to be repaired. However, the Aquafaller can be used to start Rainfall in City Town, if the weather has been unlocked there.
Rainbow Beams
When a Rainfall occurs in City Town, a total of 3x 
Rainbow Beams will spawn in random locations around the city. Rainbow Beams will stay spawned until they are collected or until it rains in City Town again.
Additionally, the player can find 3x Rainbow Beams after reset each day following the completion of the "Rainbow or Bust" quest.
Rain in Wheatflour Wonderland
This content requires 
Wheatflour Wonderland.
It is available with the Wheatflour Wonderland DLC or as part of Apple Arcade.
Rainfall occurs natively in Wheatflour Wonderland, without any quests required to unlock it.
It does not require the Aquafaller to be repaired. However, the Aquafaller can be used to start Rainfall in Wheatflour Wonderland.
While Rainfall does water the flower patches in Tier 1, the weather find of Rainfall is a critter in Tier 3. Rainfall Flowers will not appear in Wheatflour Wonderland.
Wondrous Stone
After partially completing the Critter Temple, the Grand Flowl 
Spelt will gift the Instructions for the 
Wonderous Stone to the player. To use a Wonderous Stone, the player must have a Wonderous Stone in their 
inventory and speak to Spelt in the Critter Temple.
Spelt will give the player the choice to activate any one of the following: 
Flourfall, 
Starfall, or Rainfall in Wheatflour Wonderland. Any manually activated weather event will last the normal amount of time (15 minutes).
- This choice can only be made once every 7 days.
- If the same weather event is currently occurring in Wheatflour Wonderland, it cannot be manually activated until the weather event ends.
- Manually activating weather during another weather event will end the other weather event, even if they occur in different regions.
Critter
During Rainfall, the player will be able to catch 
Floverns in the 3rd tier of Wheatflour Wonderland, to the right of the Flovern Launchpad just below Sun Peak.
