The Paper Parade is an Event in Hello Kitty Island Adventure and the seventeenth event to occur in-game. It is preceded by and runs concurrently with the Under the Sea Celebration event. The event stand (the Parade Float) is located in Seaside Resort, and the event currency is collectible from any of the Island Residents. It ran from June 13th, 2024, until the end of July 1, 2024.

The Paper Parade will be available annually from June 13th to July 1st.

Overview

The main purpose of this event is to celebrate individuality, self-expression, love, and being yourself. It’s one of Tuxedosam’s favorite holidays of the whole year, and in honor of that, he’s building a Paper Parade Float! It’s time to get colorful — the Paper Parade is here! Collect different Paper Crafts from Hello Kitty and Friends, learning what each character loves to create, and add them to the Paper Parade Float for artistic rewards. Working together, you’ll make the best-ever one-float-parade! According to the Collection Goals for the event, there are 16 types of items you can collect for this event.

Paper Craft

Paper Craft is the main form of currency for the Paper Parade event. It can be used to purchase limited-time goods from the Parade Float (the event booth) in the Resort Plaza. The player can obtain Paper Craft by speaking to Island Residents and selecting the "Any Paper Crafts?" dialog option. The player can only collect 3x Paper Craft per day. If the player tries to collect more than 3x Paper Craft per day, the Island Resident will tell the player "I don't have any Paper Crafts. Tomorrow you'll be able to collect more!" The exception is if the player missed collecting Paper Crafts up to 2 days previously; in that case, the player can collect extra to make up for the missed crafts.

Parade Float

The Parade Float acts as a shop for Paper Parade's limited-time items. Paper Crafts can be traded for the 10 pieces of event furniture. Paper Crafts need to be traded in to decorate to the Float for the Parade. However, if the player has not started or finished decorating the Float by the time of the finale cutscene, the Float does get fully decorated automatically.

Pinwheel

Pinwheels are flowers that grow in the wild during the Paper Parade. During the event, ~~█ white and █ sky~~ pinwheels can randomly appear in any empty flower plot in any biome. The first flower plots are only available with access to Merry Meadow after the "Curious Caverns" quest.

Pinwheels cannot be turned into seed packets by digging them up or by using the Seed Dispenser. However, they can be bred and can be moved around using the Trowel once they are grown. After the event ends, they can no longer be bred, but they will still be able to develop ~~speckled~~ patterns if fertilized. Their plucked flowers are giftable.
