Friendship Festival

The Friendship Festival is an Event in Hello Kitty Island Adventure and the twentieth event to occur in-game. It was preceded by and runs concurrently with the Sunshine Celebration event. The event stand is located in Seaside Resort, and the event currency is collectible from any of the Island Residents. It will run from July 25th, 2024, until the end of August 7th, 2024. This event ran in 2023 as the Launch Celebration.

The Friendship Festival will be available annually from late-July to early-August.^{[note 1]}

Overview

The main purpose of this event is to celebrate one of the year’s biggest events: the Friendship Festival! Join Hello Kitty and Friends for International Day of Friendship and the first anniversary of Hello Kitty Island Adventure! This festival is full of new Sanrio-themed fashions, new group animations, and many pictures for the memories. According to the Collection Goals for the event, there are 37 types of items you can collect for this event.

Two Companions

During the Friendship Festival, the player can temporarily have two companions, instead of just one companion. After the event, however, the player will only be allowed to have one companion. In order to permanently unlock the two companion ability, the player must complete the "Together Forever" quest.

Friendship Charm

Friendship Charm is the main form of currency for the Friendship Festival event. It can be used to purchase limited-time goods from the Photo Booth (Event Stand) in the Resort Plaza. Friendship Charms can be earned by completing the "Group Photo" daily quest, which requires taking a photo with a specific Island Resident. Completion of the quest rewards the player with 4x Friendship Charms.

Group Photo Daily Quest

Group Photo

"Group Photo" in a "Daily Quest" quest that is unlocked during the Friendship Festival event. The quest is made available every day during the event, alongside the daily gift quest from My Melody and 2 other daily quests randomly selected from all other available such quests.

Quest Information

During the Friendship Festival event, at every reset, the player will receive a daily quest which requires taking a photo with a specific Island Resident that day. The player will only receive one "Group Photo" quest per day related a randomized Island Resident each day. If the player misses the quest for at least 3 days, the player will get 4+ Friendship Charms for each day they missed.

For completing the quest, the Island Resident will reward the player with 4x Friendship Charms.

Photo Booth

The Photo Booth (Event Stand) acts as a shop for Friendship Festival's limited-time items. Friendship Charms can be traded for clothes and emotes (which can be accessed permanently once purchased)! When purchasing an Island Resident's special Friendship Festival outfit, the player will unlock wearable clothing items that are similar to Island Resident versions of the outfit—some outfits contain multiple clothing items (See "Friendship Festival Outfit (Set)" ). Additionally, once the player purchases an Island Resident's outfit from the Photo Booth (Event Stand), the player will be able to change the Island Resident's outfit to their special Friendship Festival outfit (see Outfits for Characters)!

Snapchat Lens Feature

Additionally, when pressing on the Snap Lens button, the player can unlock a limited time Snapchat Lens/Filter feature on the Snapchat app for iOS and Android!
