There are a total of 6 Mini Games that the player can play around the island! Playing them costs Game Ticket Icon.png Game Tickets. Each mini game has different rewards, and possible rewards include clothing, materials, comics, and furniture.

Most mini games can be played with a Multiplayer Multiplayer friend. If both players collect something to participate in the game, then both players will earn items. Games that do not reward both players prizes include #Gem Match Gem Match, #Seapony Racing Seapony Racing, and #Crane Craze Crane Craze.

Vertical banners near a game's Nul Nul list a random selection of possible prizes. However, it is also possible to earn prizes not shown on the banners. After the "Lucky Stars" quest, the player can use a Lucky Star Lucky Star to increase the chance of winning rare prizes for the rest of the day.

Bogging for Apples

"Bogging for Apples" Information (click "Expand" to view)
Bogging for Apples is a mini game located in the Spooky Swamp Spooky Swamp, near the Spooky Swamp Fast Travel Icon.png mailbox, within the Hedge Maze.

After paying a Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket to the mini game's Nul Icon.png Nul, the player must collect 25 Ghost Apple.png Ghost Apples — found throughout the maze — before the 60 second (i.e. one minute) timer runs out.

Before the version 1.5 update, this game had the player collect normal apples from around the maze. Unlike regular apples, Ghost Apples do not go into the player's inventory.

During the Jam Jamboree Event Stand (Item).png Jam Jamboree Calendar Icon.png event, the player can also receive 1x Jam Jars.png Jam Jar along with their regular prize (up to 5x Jam Jars.png Jam Jars per day).

"One Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket for one minute. Grab as many Apple.png Apples as you can!"

Tips for Winning Bogging for Apples

Bogging for Apples can be very difficult to win without the use of Companion Abilities and/or a Speedy Walking Potion Speedy Walking Potion.

Here are some options:

  • Use Pochacco Pochacco's Speed Walker ability to move faster through the maze. At the higher levels of his ability the minigame becomes very easy to win.
  • Use Pompompurin Pompompurin's Pudding Pants ability to jump over the maze walls to navigate it more easily. His Slow & Steady also increases the time on the clock by 5 seconds, with the clock starting at 65.
  • Kuromi Kuromi's Super Balloon ability works similar to Pudding Pants above, but is noticeably less potent.
  • Use a Speedy Walking Potion Speedy Walking Potion to move faster through the maze. This can be combined with Companion Abilities like those of Pompompurin Pompompurin (jumping higher and 5 additional seconds) or Big Challenges Big Challenges (auto-pickup) but not with Pochacco Pochacco.

There is no optimal path through the maze because there are more possible spots for apples to appear than there are apples.

The street between the two western exits are inbounds and can therefore be used to run between them if desired, as long as the player doesn't stray out to the street crosses.

Gem Match

"Gem Match" Information (click "Expand" to view)
A mostly-completed grid.

Gem Match is a mini game located in a building on Gemstone Mountain Icon.png Gemstone Mountain, to the right of the Dance Hall Dance Hall and above the Fast Travel Icon.png Gemstone Town mailbox.

Paying one Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket to the Nul Icon.png Nul opens the door to the Gem Match room. Once the player enters the room, they can activate any of the 12 Gem Match Icon.png crystals that are placed on a 4×3 grid, which will turn one of the following colors: red, yellow, sky blue, green, or purple. Then, they must activate another crystal, attempting to choose a match to the previously activated crystal (There are always 2 crystals of every color except for green, which has 4).

Matching a set of 2 crystals earns a basic reward and keeps the crystals lit. Failing to match earns nothing and causes the pair to turn back off. If all crystals are lit, the player wins a better prize.

If the player fails to activate a matched set of crystals twice, the current game ends, and they must pay another Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket to continue again. The crystals that were matched correctly during a previous round will stay lit for the next round. Once the player has found all of the correct matches, all of the crystals will be reset. The player can continue to make matches after the game resets, until they run out of tries.

During the Jam Jamboree Event Stand (Item).png Jam Jamboree Calendar Icon.png event, the player can also receive 1x Jam Jars.png Jam Jar along with their regular prize (up to 5x Jam Jars.png Jam Jars per day).

"Two turns for one Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket. Each match gives you a free turn!"

Tips for Winning Gem Match

Colors on an unmatched pair vanish roughly 1 second after a second gem is guessed, so memorization is key to winning the game.

If you have a difficult time remembering the color order of the crystals, take notes outside of the game. It can be especially helpful to take notes of what crystals are what colors if you do not have enough tickets to finish a room, so you will have them when you continue playing another day. (Your progress is maintained between days.) Some players take notes by writing down the color name or initial in a grid, while others use image-editing software to mark the colors onto an image.

It may also help to play in a systematic way. For example, start with the top left crystal, go crystal by crystal to the right, start the next row, and repeat. If you move erratically between crystals, it is easier to lose track of where you spotted what color.

Notes

  • In version 1.8, the gems gained more distinct colors to assist with players with visual impairments or colorblindness.
  • In version 1.9, the gems were changed to be much wider and to have additional icons on top of them to make them even more accessible.
  • After having paid one Game Ticket, the player can walk out of the building again, and can later return to the building and see that the door is still open and the Nul does not charge a second Game Ticket. This state will even carry over between closing and relaunching the game. The exception is if the player gets one missed pair in the room and then walks out of the building without a second missed pair, in which case the door will be closed on re-entry and the match grid will have been reset.

Red Hot Rampage

"Red Hot Rampage" Information (click "Expand" to view)
Red Hot Rampage is a mini game located on Mount Hothead Icon.png Mount Hothead on the same level as the Pizza Oven Pizza Oven, in the middle of the lava flow between the Pizza Oven and the Fast Travel Icon.png Hot Springs.

Once entering the maze and paying one Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket to the Nul Icon.png Nul, the player must collect 14× Magma Bloom.png Magma Blooms on the ground throughout the maze before the 180 second (i.e. 3 minute) timer runs out.

During the Jam Jamboree Event Stand (Item).png Jam Jamboree Calendar Icon.png event, the player can also receive 1× Jam Jars.png Jam Jar along with their regular prize (up to 5× Jam Jars.png Jam Jars per day).

"One Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket for three minutes. Find as many Magma Bloom.png Magma Blooms as you can!"

Game Features

The mini game is functionally a level from a 2D platformer. Because it is still in a 3D world, it uses the same controls as normal: movement with a controller uses the left joystick and does not work with the D-pad.

The mini game's level is full of lava pits, some with lava geysers that burst up from them in cycles. They may also have platforms that melt after the player stands on them, only to reform seconds layer.

Air vents blow up at many places and are used to boost Balloons Balloons higher up in the level, most commonly in the left half of the level. 2 of the vents are turned on and off in cycles; the "On" durations vary from 2½ to 4 seconds, while the "Off" durations are usually 3 seconds.

The sloped platforms are designed so that player characters will marginally be able to get onto them when jumping at full unaided height, though they generally don't bump into the top of the lower parts of the slopes.

Exiting the game's building forcibly quits the game. If the player has not picked up a Magma Bloom Magma Bloom yet, their ticket is returned. Win/lose conditions for prizes otherwise apply.

Tips for Winning Red Hot Rampage

A rough map of the minigame's level.

While it is possible to win Red Hot Rampage without Companion Abilities or Potions, some of the jumps are very tricky, most notoriously the ledge in the upper right, so players may need practice or the help of companion abilities to win. However, it is possible without companion abilities, with the fastest known completion without companions or potions (posted to the Discord server on November 22nd, 2024) having 88 seconds left on the clock, equivalent to a 1 minute 32 seconds run.

The most viable Companion options include:

  • Pompompurin Pompompurin: Pompompurin-PuddingPants4 Icon.png Pudding Pants makes the most difficult jumps much easier, especially at the ability's maximum level. His Pompompurin-Ability Icon.png Slow & Steady Ability ability also helps by increasing the time on the clock by 5 seconds, with the clock starting at 185.
    • Players who've grown used to playing without Pudding Pants, may have to devise different strategies to avoid bumping into roofs, most noticeably in the lower left section and when crossing the centermost staircase.
  • Kuromi Kuromi: Kuromi-Ability Icon.png Super Balloon boosts the height that Balloons Icon.png Balloons reach, which makes the most difficult jumps much easier.
  • Cinnamoroll Cinnamoroll: Cinnamoroll-Ability2 Icon.png Soar works much like Kuromi's ability above. While it lacks the useful height boost that hers has, it works well in the upper-leftmost and lower-rightmost areas.
  • TOPHAT TOPHAT: When Pickup Glitch Ability.png Pickup Glitch picks up a clone Magma Bloom Magma Bloom, both the regular and the clone is counted, often reducing the needed physical Magma Blooms to pick up by 1-3. However, if this happens on the last needed Magma Bloom, the timer may glitch.
  • Pochacco Pochacco: Pochacco Ability Lvl 3.png Speed Walker allows for faster navigation of the maze, though it does not assist with jumps.
  • Big Challenges Big Challenges: Vacuum Ability .png Vacuum auto-picks up Magma Bloom Magma Blooms within glowing range of the player character, reducing the need for button-mash reflexes when attempting various shortcuts, for instance the center-left small lava pit.

Potions also work, but a potion taken at the start of the game will not last through the entire game.

While Multiplayer Friendship abilities work in the game, the Shared-Pickup-Icon.png Shared Pickup ability does not cause each item picked up to be counted twice by the game. (The ability used to work before version 2.1.0.) Each player will still receive 1× Magma Bloom Magma Bloom when the other player picks one up.

A map of a possible route through Red Hot Rampage, including for no-potion runs.

What was the best route as of version 1.x (winnable without any Companion or Potion) is in the table below as follows:

Best Path Instructions (expand to view)
  1. From the start, jump across the platforms at the bottom to get the a Magma Bloom Magma Bloom.
  2. Continue jumping right to the second Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom.
  3. Jump at the stairs and climb to get on them. Proceed to the thermal air vent, and hold the jump button to deploy your balloons and rise. Once high enough, float to the left. At the next vent, float up again and to the right, and then float on the next vent and go to the left. Fall into the hole you come to, but deploy your balloons so that you can float to the platform with the Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom in that hole.
  4. Either use the vent to rise up or purposefully fall into the lava to reappear above. Use the thermal vent to the left of the hole to rise to a staircase, then use the thermal vent at the top of the stairs to aim towards the left. Jump up those stairs, then time your jump above the air vent so that you have your balloons deployed when it turns on. It will take you to another staircase with a Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom at the top.
  5. Jump from there and float right with your balloons. It is easiest to float to the next thermal vent and jump down from that platform to collect a Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom in the middle of the lava pools.
  6. Take the thermal to the right to get to the top of the next platform, which has another Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom.
  7. Jump to the right and float over the lava, then let yourself fall onto another air vent. While standing on the vent, jump and deploy your balloons. You need to quickly float to the left, such that you are still being boosted when you do so. If you time it correctly, you can float to a platform below the lava pools above, where you can collect a Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom to the left.
    • Note: The above is very much the hardest jump to manage in this mini game. If you need to take a Thermal Potion Thermal Potion, you may want to take it here. However, it is possible to manage without a potion.
  8. Jump left off the platform, and float until you see another Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom to pick.
  9. Jump left off of this platform as well, and try to float to another platform that has a gap before another Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom. If you can't quite manage to reach the platform, you can use the vent to rise up.
  10. Jump into the vent's gap. Do not float on the vent. There is another Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom at the bottom.
  11. Proceed right, jumping over a gap with a staircase. Jump off the platform, then float down and to the left to get a Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom.
  12. Jump back to the vent to the right, then go across the lava platforms to the right to another vent. Time yourself to miss the lava eruption, then take the vent up to a staircase with a Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom at the top.
  13. Go back to the middle vent, either by jumping over to it or by jumping directly into the lava, which will make you reappear above the middle vent. At the middle vent, go left and down. Continue heading down until you reach a platform bridge over lava, then run to collect a Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom to the left.
  14. Wait for the platforms to reappear or jump into the lava to reappear on the stairs above, then head right to where a vent turns on and off in the middle of a lava pool. Time your jump to catch the thermal air when the vent turns on, then float up and to the right where a Magma Bloom.png Magma Bloom is on a ledge.

Rockadoodler Roundup

"Rockadoodler Roundup" Information (click "Expand" to view)
The Rockadoodler Roundup Corral.

Rockadoodler Roundup is a mini game located at the Rockadoodler Corral, which is in the upper region (north of the Fast Travel Icon.png Oasis) of Gemstone Mountain Gemstone Mountain. The Rockadoodler Roundup mini game is unlocked after the player has completed the "Rockadoodler Roundup" quest.

After paying one Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket to the Nul Icon.png Nul, the player must catch 15x Rockadoodler.png Rockadoodlers with their Net Net before the 60-second (i.e. one minute) timer runs out.

Round up as many Rockadoodler.png Rockadoodlers as you can!"

Tips for Winning Rockadoodler Roundup

The fair play zone of the minigame, give or take a meter or two. Red are the borders that aren't cliffs, cyan is the most common Rockadoodler spawn points, and dark blue is the start point.

Be careful not to chase too far after the Rockadoodler.png Rockadoodlers. It is possible to go outside of the game's boundary (which is unmarked), causing you to automatically lose the game, especially if you accidentally run off the cliff. Generally the inbounds fair zone is the same plateau level as the corral, the northernmost boulders, the northwest lake, and the ladder on the right if it is not climbed to the top of.

Out-of-bounds include the mere top of the ladder south of the start point, some corners of the Zipline station, the Cozy Crystal stage, and west of the northwest lake.

If you run out-of-bounds before catching any Rockadoodler.png Rockadoodlers, your Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket will be returned. If you run out-of-bounds after catching at least one Rockadoodler Rockadoodler, you will earn at least 3x Egg.png Eggs.

Companion Abilities

Companion Abilities can assist with this game.

You can also use a Speedy Walking Potion Speedy Walking Potion to move faster if not using Pochacco Pochacco.

Notes

  • The mini game is known in the "English (United Kingdom)" version of the game as Rockadoodle Roundup without the trailing R for unknown reasons.
  • The start point for the Corral Stampede Challenge Course is in inbound fair zone, but jumping on it during a Rockadoodler Roundup session will do nothing as the button is stuck solid for the duration of the session.
    • The launch handle of the "Gemhead Zip" zipline is also very narrowly inbounds, but cannot be pressed despite being highlighted when the player character looks at it.

Crane Craze

"Crane Craze" Information (click "Expand" to view)
Rare Candle-L1.jpg

Crane Craze is a mini game located in Merry Meadow Merry Meadow, in the Fast Travel Icon.png Merry Meadows Temple area accessible after growing the third Beanstalk from a Giant Seed.png Giant Seed and completing the "Petal Puzzle" quest. It is inside a round stone doorway in a tree trunk previously closed by a door with gems on it.

For 1 Game Ticket Icon.png game ticket, the Nul Icon.png Nul allows the player to have one turn with no time limit, and the player must choose between Hard Mode or Easy Mode. The modes have different prizes available. Hard Mode increases the speed of the prize crates.

"One turn for one Game Ticket Icon.png Game Ticket. Try the hard mode for better prizes!"

Game Mechanics

The game is played by guiding a Crane Craze.png crane around a circular pool. The pool has 10 moving lily pads with crates on top that move around in more or less consistent pattern, which is a somewhat curly oval. The crates have images of their contents on them.

The player stands on the blue triangle buttons to use them as a directional pad to guide the crane around the pool. When satisfied with the crane's placement and what it might grab, the player must step on the purple circle button to trigger the crane to lower.

If the crane manages to grab a crate, it will bring it to the landing circle and drop it there. The player must use the Pickaxe Pickaxe to open the prize crate. If the crane fails to grab a crate, a crate with 3x Pollen Puff Pollen Puffs will be dropped on the landing circle.

The entire area is inbounds, so the player cannot lose by walking out of bounds. The entrance gate is also closed while a crane round is in progress. Although fish can be seen swimming around in the mini game's water pool, they cannot be caught as the player cannot equip the Fishing Rod Icon.png Fishing Rod while in the temple.

Tips for Winning Crane Craze

The game relies on good timing and good positioning. The crane must be guided away from the pool's center, but all the way to the edge is past where the crates are usually catchable. The shadow of the crane in the water allows you to judge where the crane will reach when lowered.

Some devices do not display the shadow properly, which can increase the difficulty. If you do not have a shadow that appears, use the stone blocks around the edge of the pond to help judge where the crane will land. If you make a habit of only moving the crane in one direction, it is easier to remember where the crane will reach the pond.

It is possible to catch crates if you move the crane only to the right, only to the left, or only to the top without other directional adjustments.

Once you have the crane positioned with the directional buttons, move away from them and towards the circle button without stepping on it. Only step on the button when you think the crane will catch a crate when lowered. If the claw does not close on both sides of a crate, the catch will fail.

In Hard Mode, the purple button should be stepped on approximately 1.5 crates before the crate you want to win, while for Easy Mode it would be approximately 0.75 crates distance.

Wish me mell Wish me mell's Precision Play ability reduces the speed of the prizes in Crane Craze by 25%. No other characters have character abilities that affect how the game is played.
